legends of the fall

“autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.”
– william cullen bryant
i know.

twice in one week.
my love letter to miss alexa continues today, but for a much bigger reason. so big, it is deserving for a second post.
get your pocketbooks ready, friends…
today is the day we can purchase alexa chung’s marvelous madewell collection!
i remember swooning over her luscious fashion show looks like it was yesterday. the sumptuous scarves. the terrific tweeds. the sultry silk blouses. checks, stripes, dots and fantastic vintage-esque brooches. the lean silhouettes and romantic-meets-collegiate styling.
oh my goodness.
but being a bride-to-be on a budget, i must pick my shots. and after careful assessment of my autumn wardrobe, i have decided that the dreamy nude silk blouse, the smart tweed schoolboy blazer and the retro chic black dot blouse are my pics of the season. i’m also gearing up to hunt though my local vintage shops for some stellar brooches to sprinkle on my cardigans and jackets this season. because thoughtful, one-of-a-kind jewelry is what i love.
i think miss alexa would approve, don’t you?
now it’s your turn, fashionable friends. what alexa + madewell beauties will you be donning this season?
xo,
s

I seriously need the entire Alexa Chung for Madewell collection. It has this hint of vintage English schoolboy aesthetic to it that I can’t resist – tres fab!

Gah! Sylvie I love your new look – the header and background are divine!! 🙂

I like Alexa a lot. She’s gorgeous and has a great style sense. BUT I’m not the biggest fan of this collection, mostly because there’s nothing standout about it. Sure, it’s impeccably put together and well styled but it’s not something you’d want to go to Fashion Week to see. It’s no Proenza Schouler. Or even as edgy as The Row.

That’s just my two cents anyway 😛

That little velvet dress with the Peter Pan collar is so adorable I can hardly stand it! And I love that polka dot blouse; there’s something about the sexiness of sheer and the charm of polka dots!
