paris nights / new york mornings

“girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
you go ahead, let your hair down
sapphire and faded jeans, i hope you get your dreams,
just go ahead, let your hair down.”

oh, monday.  i think you are here a day too soon.
but here you are, and i must find some way to prod my sleepy-headed self out of bed and into the office. and for this, i thank my lucky stars for miss corinne bailey rae.
this lovely british songbird has recently released her sophomore album, the sea, and it is purely and simply divine.
the wistful lyrics of “the sea,” inspiring  uptempos of “paris nights / new york mornings” and enchanting melodies of “i would like to call it beauty,” are just a few of the reasons i am already addicted to this album.
bravo, corinne.
xo,
s
