the jet set – silver lining

hello hello!
i hope all of you got a kick out of this week’s “jet set” guest blogger series and had fun meeting some of my favorite blog friends.  i know they had a terrific time meeting all of you!
to round out the week, the jet set’s last post is from yours truly.  a frequent flier who calls manhattan home 3 months each year, i am excited to share my own little dream vacation with all of my wonderful friends.
here’s to making every weekend a perfect getaway.
xo,

the passenger:

the getaway:
istanbul’s magnificent palaces and the sparkling seaside villages of türkbükü and assos are pure magic!

the carry on:

jerome dreyfuss’s large billy tote {indigo, please}
big enough for a trip, impeccably stylish for everyday.

summer staple:

hopelessly romantic blouses.
eyelets, embroidery, shirring, crochet….you name it, i love it.
airy cotton tops in any shade of white add a little jazz to cutoff denim shorts or a sweet skirt.
calypso, joie and anthropologie are my old faithfuls for these favorite summer pieces.

beauty bliss:

kai perfume oil
this malibu based fragrance house is the creator of my most favorite summer perfume.
filled with the exotic, luxurious scents of my favorite white flowers, it has me dreaming of me & rob’s next tropical adventure.

color code:

washed lavender.
this light summer shade has me dreaming of the magical lavender fields in provence.
it looks equally charming when paired with cool whites or vintage khaki.

page turner:

“let the great world spin”, by colum mcann
i was mesmerized by philippe petit’s tight rope adventure in the documentary “man on wire” and this fictional tale occurs during the moments of petit’s feat.  truly enchanting!

shaken or stirred:

bix’s ginger gimlet
i have a soft spot for all things ginger and this luscious cocktail hails from bix, a cool and classy san francisco joint {and the scene of me & rob’s first fancy date}.
this pure and simple mix of kaffir lime vodka, ginger infused simple syrup & fresh lime is life changing. yep, it’s that good.

the soundtrack:

i’m pretty sure you all have a good idea of what my favorite tunes are this season. as for the ones that are on constant repeat, it would be the new records of the zany vampire weekend boys, the unpredictable gorillaz and dj extraordinaire mark ronson & the business int’l.

wow this is a super great idea for a blog series! I’m tempted to steal it, except I won’t of course! You’ve found a great way to blend fashion, travel, and blogging all in one, bravo cherie!

I’ve always wanted to go to Turkey. My wife and I frequently almost go–but end up somewhere else instead. Someday…
