My meditations start with thoughts of me in one of my favorite, safest spaces. I can see the clear sky, hear the waves, smell the salty sea air, feel the cool sand between my toes.  Feeling safe, happy, and spiritually open is an important first step in any meditation or breathwork meditation exercise; and it allows us to maximize the positive energy flowing in and out of us.

Breathwork—a mindful practice that has become a buzzword in the wellness world—is an active meditation of guided breath for extended intervals of time. But Breathwork is so much more than the idea of “breathing correctly” or a “breathing exercise”. Breathwork offers a variety of techniques with an intentional use of the breath as a tool for healing and transformation.

Daily Breathwork and Meditation supports our mental, emotional and physical health in many ways. Lower stress levels, blood pressure, alleviates anxiety and negative emotions, fosters brain growth, improves heart rate variability – these are just a few.

Breathwork Meditation Tips for Stress & Anxiety

step no.1

Clear the mind completely. Begin by focusing on our breath.

step no.2

Generate an image or idea of love, joy, or peace in our minds before we begin. For me, it’s this beach moment, and a simple affirmation such as “I am loved and protected.”

step no.3

Inhale slowly in 5 counts. With each inhale, feel our lungs and body expand, come alive, and feel full of love and positive energy.

step no.4

Hold the breath for 5 counts. Focus on the vision of us in this safe, beautiful place, and a new affirmation, such as “Peace begins within me.”

step no.5

Exhale slowly in 5 counts. Exhale tension, exhale fear, exhale all the negativity weighing us down. Exhale our positive intentions into the world.

step no.6

Repeat 4-5 times daily. 🙏🏽
