    DO: 11 HABITS FOR A PRODUCTIVE MORNING ROUTINE

    I always thought weekday mornings were supposed to be hectic, hurried, all around stressful. Even before kids, I was always rushing out the door, always 5-10 minutes late, forgetting things, sprinting from the train stop or parking lot, grabbing a breakfast burrito/croissant/breakfast sandwich and sugary coffee drink on the way in. Never my finest moment, and every year I pledged to be better. Then I had 1 kid, then 2 kids….and each time the mornings felt more crazy and I felt more out of control. I can’t remember what it was that snapped me out of it, but one day I made a pledge to be better, one small habit at a time. over the last few months, I’ve finally started to hit a groove and I feel more control over my day and my morning than ever before….even with 2 kids, a full time job, and this blog! A lot of my readers and fellow working mamas have been suffering through a similar cycle, and today I’m here to help break it once and for all, with my 11 Habits for a Productive Morning Routine. I do about 90% of these on the regular (i prefer lunchtime workouts), but I’ve been religious to each and every habit and now it doesn’t feel like work, just my daily morning rituals. I encourage you to try them, one at a time, until you don’t have to think of doing it and you find yourself wanting to do them each morning. And i promise you, the stress will fade, the minutes will slow, and you’ll have a productive morning routine in no time.

     THE NIGHT BEFORE: MAKE THE LIST OF PRIORITIES FOR THE MORNING.

    GET IT TOGETHER: PREP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN BEFORE BED – OUTFIT, MEAL PREP, COFFEE TIMER, ETC

    GET A JUMP ON THE DAY: WAKE UP 45 MINUTES EARLIER TO START WITH A FOCUSED, CLEAR MIND

    WAKE UP WITH A SMILE

    GRATITUDE & INTENTION: 5 MINUTE MORNING MEDITATION TO BREATHE, REFLECT AND SET INTENTIONS

    A HEALTHY GLASS: WARM WATER WITH LEMON TO KEEP THE BODY’S PH LEVELS BALANCED

    BREAK A SWEAT: EVEN A 15 MINUTE WORKOUT BOOSTS OUR ENERGY & MOOD FOR THE DAY

    STAY OFFLINE: NO SOCIAL MEDIA, EMAIL, OR ANY OTHER ONLINE DISTRACTIONS UNTIL A DESIGNATED BREAK

    ON THE CLOCK: HAVE A CLOCK IN VIEW TO STAY FOCUSED. SET AN ALARM 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE GO TIME
