    for the love of polish

“i believe in manicures. i believe in overdressing. i believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. i believe in pink. i believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. i believe that tomorrow is another day, and… i believe in miracles.”
    – audrey hepburn

    it’s almost the weekend, friends!
which means it’s almost mani-pedi time!

    i love spending an hour or so of a lazy sunday afternoon painting my nails…and catching up on all of my CW shows {GG and OTH – the best!}
the classic whisper pinks of Essie’s Ballet Slippers, the chic mink gray of OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques, the glam of Essie’s Lollipop, the offbeat ocean blue of Chanel’s Riva…i love ’em all. 🙂

but i need your help – it’s time for me to narrow down my picks for my wedding day polish, so i can take pretty pretty pictures like this cutie above.

    are you ready???

here are a few of the beauties on my love list:

    1. Essie’s Tart Deco:
with coral being one of our favorite colors of our sunset wedding palette, this shade is one of my all time favorite shades. perfectly peachy, it looks lovely on both hands and feet!

    2. Chanel’s Inattendu
a lighter, dreamier peach. i like to think of it as the pale peach version of my classic pale pink polishes. isn’t it sweet?? and the OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy looks lovely too!

    3. Deborah Lippmann’s Some Enchanted Evening
i’m beyond head over heels in love with this new rose gold inspired color.
rose gold + sparkly = amazing!

i’ll be testing these out over the next month to see which one i like best, but i’d love your thoughts too – which one do you think would be best for yours truly?
AND, let’s share the nail polish love – i’m always on the lookout for new nail polish colors to try out. 🙂

here’s to a colorful weekend, friends!

friends, your sweet thoughts and inspiring comments are the bright spot of my day. please make the jump, hang out and share what’s on your mind. 🙂

I really like the chanel inattendu. i paint my nails all the time and right now i’m feeling light brown/almost mauve. the one that i have in mind is called nirvana by sinful colors. it’s not a very good quality nail polish so you should put a bottom coat to protect your nail bed from discoloration.

Ironically enough, Essie’s Van D’Go is on my fingernails & Essie’s Tart Deco is on my toenails right now. 🙂 You have excellent taste in polish! Can’t wait to see what you decide to wear for your wedding day.

We are following your blog now & we’d love for you to check out ours!

“I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls…” this is one of my favorite quotes mostly because it rings so true.

..and what lovely colors you chose..I particularly like Chanel’s Inattendu!

Oooh loving the Some Enchanted Evening! I JUST bought 4 Deborah Lippmann polishes from GILT this past week when they went on sale! I couldn’t help myself…and I can’t wait to try them!

i’m so fond of innatendu, but i’d go with cart deco – although i’m wearing essie’s ballet slipper color right now because it’s one of my favorites. great, i can’t make up my mind. sorry, i’m no help!

    7. 02/11/2011 / 7:44 pm

Oh, they’re so gorgeous! I think Inattendu looks loveliest and most natural with your skin tone, but they’re all beautiful picks!

    8. 02/11/2011 / 6:40 pm

agreed! Island cotton candy! so pretty and feminine and classy!

    9. 02/11/2011 / 5:24 pm

I love the Island cotton candy color the best! So soft!

    10. 02/11/2011 / 4:53 pm

OK. We really are soul sisters. I mean, OTH and GG tivo’d while leisurely doing nails and all things girly? Guilty, guilty pleasures of mine.

P.S. – I love that quote. Always have.

And go with rose gold on your toes and Chanel Jasmine on your hands.
