hidden gem

“yosemite valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space. “
– ansel adams
it is officially four days until sparkly independence day!

and while we are always jazzed about the traditional fourth festivities, i’ve always wanted to spend this all american holiday weekend in the magical forest –  toasting marshmallows, exploring the lush woods, splashing through the cool rivers….and soaking in the brilliant sunshine. sounds dreamy, right?

but for those of you who have the same forest dreams but are not too keen on camping tents, i have the most magnificent place for you – chateau du sureau.

this european fairy-tale inn lies minutes from the famed yosemite national park and is a stunning haven from bustling city life.  the romantic architecture features stone turrets, parisian balconies and shuttered windows.  the grounds are home to a tucked away pool, bocce court and life size chess board.  and, the food?  delectable and sublime….

it might be one of the most romantic places on earth. one of my very best girlfriends got engaged here and i have been in love with it ever since!

here’s to a little more magic in our lives….

  3. What timing! This is exactly the type of getaway I’ve been dreaming of, but had no idea where to find it. I sometimes wish I was a tent kind of girl, but why try when there are places like this so close to home. 🙂
